Following the fatal shooting at the Aarau Rave, the perpetrators remain at large. A 22-year-old Italian woman residing in Switzerland succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Four men and one woman, aged between 24 and 27, were injured and are hospitalised. According to police, none are in life-threatening condition.

Aargau Cantonal Police continue their nationwide search for the shooter(s). The identity and number of perpetrators remain unknown. However, police assume the perpetrators are no longer in Aarau. Based on current investigations, they rule out further danger to the public.

Three hypotheses are central to the investigation: Authorities are examining a terrorist attack, a rampage, and a criminal act – for example, a dispute or a settlement within criminal circles. The motive remains unclear. Police currently assume the victims were random.

According to current findings, shots were fired at two different locations in Schachen. Investigators found shell casings from two different calibers. These include pistol ammunition and ammunition from a long gun, such as an assault rifle. Police speak of a "large number of shots".

At the time of the shooting, the «Aarau Rave VOL. 7» was largely over. According to police, approximately one hundred people were likely still on the premises. More than one hundred visitors were subsequently interviewed in a gymnasium.

German police are also involved in the manhunt. According to authorities, this is standard cross-border cooperation.

According to preliminary findings by the Aargau Cantonal Police, one person died in the overnight shooting in Aarau Schachen. Five other people sustained injuries, some serious. The search for the unknown perpetrators is ongoing; motive and exact circumstances remain unclear.

The shots occurred near the "Aarau Rave" at the horse racing track in Schachen. Further information will follow.
