The Terravis platform, known from land register transactions, will now serve as a recognized transmission service for the electronic processing of debt enforcement procedures. The Bundesamt für Justiz has recognized Terravis AG as such a service. This allows debt enforcement and bankruptcy offices to process procedures partially electronically. This promises shorter processing times and less paper.
What is Terravis?
Terravis is a digital network for business transactions between authorities, courts, and private partners. The Canton of Zurich originally developed the platform. Today, Terravis AG operates the platform, and several cantons use it. Previously, notaries, banks, and land registry offices primarily used its services. Now, debt enforcement offices join them.
The platform functions as a central interface. It connects various cantonal systems and enables secure data exchange. A single login is sufficient to access all connected services. This saves time and reduces errors that occur with manual transfers.
Benefits for Debt Enforcement Offices
Debt enforcement procedures in Switzerland often still rely on paper forms and postal mail. This changes with the new offering. Offices can electronically receive, review, and process debt enforcement requests. Payment orders can also be created and sent digitally.
